Parker's Tummy Issues

Poor baby Parker has still not been feeling well. I mentioned before that we took him to the doctor (a week ago) for a bloody diaper. Our pediatrician said he had a milk allergy and to switch him from breast milk to Alimentum formula. Ever since then Parker has been in awful tummy pain. He's not acting himself or eating like his usual. He hasn't been as active or cooing like he used to. We took him back to the pediatrician Tuesday and he said to up their Zantac dose. Eric and I expressed concern to the doctor and that we didn't feel it was his reflux that was causing the problem. Parker has always been a very relaxed, playful, easy going baby and lately he's been very uncomfortable. Last night we went to dinner for Eric's birthday while Gramma and Grandad stayed with the babies. Parker had been upset while we were gone and we decided last night that enough is enough and we wanted a second opinion. We were very worried it could be something more serious than a milk allergy. We loaded him up and took him to the Cooks Urgent Care that is right by our house. Thank goodness this Cooks is never busy and there were only two people ahead of us. The doctor at Cooks said she doesn't think it's a milk allergy but a bacterial infection. She seemed surprised that our pediatrician didn't do a culture on the diaper we brought in. She is doing a culture on the dirty diaper he had while we were there last night. We will know in a few days if there is any bacteria in his intestines. She said how rare milk allergies are to breast milk and she said it would have shown up much earlier. Whether it's an allergy or not I'm just glad they are running the culture so we can find out some answers (I hope!) It kind of makes sense to be a bacterial infection since he hasn't been acting himself. Who wants to eat or play when there sick?
