Pandemic & Picasso

Phew....well I started this post almost a week ago and I'm just now opening the computer to finish it! I think our little pandemic is over, but I better not jinx anything. We had quite the variety of illness in my family- first, Dad came home from the hospital with pneumonia with a PIC line to receive antibiotics at home. Mom gets trained on how to administer the antibiotics, 12 hours later she came down with a stomach bug, 12 hours later I come down with the flu, 12 hours later Eric came down with a virus...seriously. One word from me- tamiflu! I really think tamiflu was made in heaven, after two doses I felt so much better than before. Today I feel back to normal at last! I'm really looking forward to the weekend!

On to Picasso....

Parker really enjoyed finger painting a few weeks ago, Presley wasn't as fond of getting her fingers dirty...she did enjoy it though and made a beauitufl picture! :)

Could they be any different? I'm sure you can guess whose is whose :)

Looking a little like a crazy artist ;)
Apparently the final touch was running it through his hair...
Little angel :) I used some of Eric's old shirts for their smocks. When I told Eric he said, "What old shirts? I wear ALL my shirts.." haha! Don't worry Eric these had small holes ;)
I've been on my own painting kick lately, spray paint that is! I've for some reason had an itch to re-decorate and one of the main things I've done is spray paint- so easy and totally changes the look! Now that the flu is gone I look forward to finishing some of my ideas. :)
spray painting old frames and re-purposing
bedroom lamps before
and after! I'm on a paint everything cream colored kick! Now I want to cover my shades with burlap!
Happy weekend!!

Lately!

I am still here! Life's been a bit chaotic since my last posting. My Dad went into the hospital last Thursday night. He gave us all a good scare. He's been sick since November for what the family doctor said was a sinus infection. He finally got so bad Thursday that they went to the ER... his heart rate was 60/50 and bp 160- very scary. He has pneumonia and is now being treated with several antibiotics. They have installed a PIC line (last night) so that he can receive his antibiotics by IV at home. He is very happy for this and ready to be home.
We are ready for Dad/Papa to be feeling better!
With my Dad being in the hospital, little Pudge came to stay with us. P & P are in doggy heaven. Pudge on the other hand is not so much, pretty sure he thinks P & P are scary little aliens. :) He did however really appreciate the wagon ride...the wind was in his hair as if he was hanging out the car window. :) More on Pudge later..

Here's what we were up to around the house prior to my Dad getting real sick--
Have I mentioned how messy Parker is?? :) Here's one night after he finished his dinner..
*note- I chose to let him play on this one occasion :)
shaking out his water...
...licking up some of the water
 splashing in the water...
acting like a crazy person... :)

 Ha!
My sweet angel messy boy :)
Ever since P & P got their "lap tops" at Christmas they join me when I check e-mails :) It's really cute when I'm sitting with my coffee in the morning and they bring their lap tops.
precious co-worker huh? :) oh and Presley works on two lap tops at once...she's a pretty hard worker ;)
Enjoying a ride around the living room on a pillow
working together to put out fires!
Yep, I bought them each a potty seat and the "Elmo's Potty Time" video...which is quite hilarious. It's not the right time for them to full on learn but I will be prepared for when they are ready, and in the mean time a little practice :) Parker is quite sad that his Cars potty seat isn't a toy he can take around the house...cars=exicting...I should have thought of that- haha!
I can't believe it's February- playing with Valentine's window stickers
And a little DIY for today- Coffee filter wreaths! Love! Simply fold the filters and hot glue to the wreath!
Ta-da! A ruffle wreath! I'm realizing I have a wreath obsession- I've seen some REALLY cute ones on pinterest....I need more doors and wall space. ;)
Sweet twinkies!
Have a wonderful weekend. A quick prayer for my dad's health would be appreciated!

Newborns!

I don't usually post any of my photography stuff here but just had to share a few cuties I looked back over while organizing the pics on my computer. The babes of 2011. :) So sweet..I am still printing P & P's newborn pictures occasionally to place around the house- I think newborn pics are the most memorable and special!

Presley's first haircut!

The week before Christmas I took little P to get her hair cut...I hated to see those sweet long curls go but I wanted it to grow in more evenly. :) Now she has the cutest little bob.

Poor little thing was of course terrified at the thought of me just putting her in the chair to get chopped. She was clinging to me like a koala bear on a tree- ha! Luckily, the lady said I could hold her since she was basically just doing one chop on the back- well guess I could've done that- haha!

She was glad when it was over ;)
Happy Tuesday!

2-1

Dear Parker & Presley, you actually just turned 22 months but since I'm behind in my writing I will write about month 21. I still cannot believe you are getting so close to TWO. You are really growing and shining more and more every day!
Presley
*Happy. You are such a happy, full of life little girl! You love to laugh out loud and play silly games.
*Smart. You are so very smart and clever in your ways. You are talking more and more everyday. You can mimic almost anything I say to you and sometimes I'm surprised when I'm copied. I love your sweet voice. :)
*Negotiator. You really love your brother, and of course anything he has is instantly WAY better than any other toy/item in the house...so therefore you go for what you want and don't stop until you get it! I admire your determination. However, when I get on to you and tell you to give it back to Parker you go and find other toys to try to give to Parker...of course he wants nothing to do with these negotiation tactics. :)
*Independent. You play very well on your own. You love to play with your stuffed animals, little plastic animals, and dolls. I usually can find you talking to them and setting them up, moving them around the house...it is so very sweet to watch.
*Little Mommy. You take great care of your doll babies and stuffed animals. You also are very sensitive to Parker when he is sad. You try patting and rubbing his back to make him feel better...only thing is most of the time he is sad it's because of something you have taken from him...but we always work it out. :)
*Dislike for mornings. The last few months you have become an anti-morning person. I think you wake up still a little tired which doesn't put you in the best mood. You and I cuddle in the rocking chair or I carry you around the house until you cheer up- usually at least 30 minutes. We have to be very careful around you during this time...you get annoyed easily. :) I've learned- I can't touch your stuffed animals, I can't walk away from you for a second, and Daddy better not even try talking to you- haha! But, after you wake up you are the happiest girl all day long!
*Dance Dance Dance. I can't get over how much you love to dance. You just can't help yourself- the second you hear music you start moving! We were at the park one afternoon and a car pulled up with loud music, you even started dancing to that! :) You have some good little moves too. You love Daddy to hold your hand and twirl you around.
*Kisses. You are so loving. You love giving kisses, and I even see you often reading a book quietly by yourself and leaning down to kiss the babies or animals on the pictures of the book. Oh and my favorite thing about your kisses is you click your tongue when you give a kiss to try and make the smooch sound. So adorable!

Parker
*Sunshine. You are like a bundle of sunshine, ALWAYS happy and playful! You have been happy, and easy going since the day you were born.
*100% boy. You LOVE (I MEAN L.O.V.E) trucks, airplanes, and tractors!! I never noticed how many 18 wheelers are on the road until you came along. You excitedly point out EVERY SINGLE truck when we drive. You shout from the backseat, "TRUCK" and if I don't acknowledge you right away, you shout louder.  I'm glad you don't want me to miss one. ;)
*Cuddly. You love to cuddle and if you had your way you'd sleep on me all night. Since Christmas (when you got sick) you have been coming in to sleep in our bed around 2 am until morning...you toss, turn, kick us in the face, but there is nothing sweeter than me opening my eyes to you on your knees, with a big smile, flapping your hand (waving) in my face. A few days ago I woke up to you leaning down and giving me kisses- you were being so quiet, sweetest thing ever.
*Messy. I am always amazed at the mess you can create even with the tiniest crumb. I'm not sure how you do it sometimes. :) Every meal you end up covered in food- face, clothes, hair! You often like to throw your food as well, creating a mess all around you.
* Picky eater! It is my daily challenge to get you to eat. I've found you mostly like soft foods...or crunchy! You love all dairy products and I can always count on you to eat avocado! It helps that you can tell me yes or no now when I ask you if you want certain foods.
* Early riser. You like to get a jump start on the day early in the morning. You always wake up happy and ready to go! When you wake up in our bed I'm always amazed at how many silly sounds and noises you make...often really loudly right after you wake up- being playful. Daddy doesn't always appreciate this. :) I think part of the reason you wake up so early is to get your one-on-one time. You help Mommy & Daddy make their coffee every morning and one of your favorite things is to push the coffee button.
*Kitchen helper. In addition to making coffee you also love to help me make dinner. You love to help me stir. :)
*Curious. You investigate every thing and often find ways to take things apart, often things I don't expect you to take apart. Smart boy! You also would much rather be up and involved in whatever I am doing rather than playing with toys. :)

Together

(giving a kiss above)
*you of course have the battles over toys and even attention but you also sure do love to play together! I love watching you chase each other around the house giggling the entire time! Parker, you especially loves to play chase. You also love to copy each other...a lot of the time it's when you are in your high chairs eating- silly babies. :)
* kisses. I love watching you give each other a kiss every night before bed. So sweet!
*the relationship between the two of you is amazing.
We love you both more than anything. You create happiness all around you!
