Counting Down

Look to the right ---> I've added a countdown clock! You better believe I will be looking at the blog several times a day to see this. =) I first had the clock set for 34 weeks since that is when I no longer have to take the Procardia...but I decided to set a higher goal of 36 weeks since that is what I would prefer for the babies.

1 more day until I get to see Dr. Tabor and find out how everything is going! I've been counting down to that too...it's been 4 weeks since I've seen him and since the babies have been measured!

30 WEEKS!

Goodbye twenties, HELLO thirties!! Probably the only time I will be happily saying those words! haha! I've been looking forward to 30 weeks for sometime now! This means from our original countdown we only have 4 weeks left when we started counting down from 10. Now, MY countdown has been adjusted to 6...I would really like the babies to wait until 36 weeks (well and so would Eric!) However, my doctor is not going to have me continue with the contraction pills after 34 weeks. So, I guess anything is fair game after that point!

This week has not been my favorite. It has seemed like the NEVER ending week. I think it is partly because I had no doctor appointments to get out of the house for and also because of this---

Ugh, could it be anymore gloomy lately?! There was one nice day this week and I was able to lay outside in a lawn chair. If we could just have a few more days of sun I might have a tan before the babies come. =) Tomorrow is supposed to be nice so I've already prepared Eric that I will be laying out in the sun. I'm REALLY looking forward to it! I love the fresh air and being away from the TV.

Another big 30 going on...THIS handsome guy (my big brother) turns 30 on Tuesday! He isn't very excited about it. :( I know I won't be excited for my 30th either so I'm trying to make his a little more positive. Tomorrow night Eric's going to load me up...haha...and we are going to my Mom and Dad's for BBQ and a movie. I can't really go out and celebrate with him so this is the best we can do for now. Sorry the picture is blurry it's because I cropped it. =)

Here are some facts about 30 Weeks Pregnant:
The early baby fuzz, lanugo, is disappearing now and being replaced by actual hair.

It is possible for the baby to cry real tears, even within the womb.

The baby's brain is growing rapidly, developing hundreds of billions of new nerve cells. All of this work will be finished by birth. No new nerve cells will be added after birth, though the brain will not reach full size until your child is 5 years old.

If you are carrying twins, your uterus is already as large as if you were full term with a single baby.

Although it was a LONG week for me there were some accomplishments that make me feel better! =) Tuesday my mom organized their closets for me while I directed from the baby gliders. She also got all of their clothes washed and we got them all put away. I looked in their closets again last night and thought to myself it looks like we are going to have two little dolls moving in. =) Some of their clothes are SO tiny! I also picked the outfits I want to take to the hospital for them. I've always been a bit of an over packer so they each have 5 outfits + 5 bows for Presley Kate. Haha! I'm not sure what size they will be so I wanted variety. I packed a few different preemie size outfits and one that is a bit bigger than preemie. =) It's all set to go in the diaper bag...although I know there are a few things I still need to pack for them. I like to plan ahead... =)

I'm really looking forward to MONDAY. We see Dr. Tabor that afternoon for a growth check of the babies and he will check me.

Showered with LOVE from Friends!

Last Saturday, February 13th several of my best friends hosted a baby shower for Parker and Presley at my Mom's house! I am so thankful to be blessed with such wonderful people in my life! The shower was given by- Jennifer, Taren, Kim, Pamila, and Carolyn. I have known each one of these friends for a long time. I met Jennifer and Pamila in 6th grade, Carolyn and Kim in 9th grade, and Taren in college. Everything they did was too cute! It was SO fun for me to see all my closest friends and some family all in one place! I could have stayed talking all day! =)

Here are some of the highlights from the morning-

The delicious cake Carolyn ordered!

The diaper cake Jennifer made!

The cute poms Taren brought!

The precious cupcake toppers Taren ordered!

This next part is a little summmary of how I know some of my closest friends that were at the shower. There were many other important friends than the ones I listed below. These are just a few of the many people that are special to me.

Lacey. Lacey and I were inseperable from 3rd grade through college. We lived together in the dorm at North Texas and in our first apartment. We don't keep in touch as much as we should now but always pick up where we left off when we see each other. Lacey is like a sister to me. =)

Jennifer. Jennifer and I have been inseperable since 6th grade. We've been friends through a lot of tough times and always find something to laugh about! She's always been there for me including shaving my legs before the shower! haha! =) I also remember her painting my toe nails before I went to a prom. She put so much work into the shower and also took our maternity pictures! I can count on her for anything and all!

Taren. Taren and I have been friends since we first met freshmen year at UNT during rush. We joined the same sorority- Pi Beta Phi. Taren and I plus a few of our other great friends including Lacey would eat every dinner together in the dorm. During our last year at UNT Taren and I lived down the street from each other. I miss living so close by each other! Taren and I live about an hour apart now. Taren has been so supportive during this entire pregnancy and I know she has said many prayers for our babies. =)

Kim. Somehow I didn't end up with a picture of me and Kim. Kim and I met in 9th grade. Kim constantly cracks me up and we have some hilarious memories together! Some of my favorite memories with Kim are from right after college. Kim and I spent every weekend running around together until she moved to Colorado. Even when she was in Colorado we never went long with out talking. I'm so glad she moved back!

Pamila, Monica, me, Carolyn, Taren, Jennifer
I didn't get a picture with Carolyn and Pamila. Pamila and I met during middle school. There is nothing I can't talk about with Pamila. I am so happy she moved back to Texas last year. She lived in Arizona then Georgia. I missed her so much! Carolyn and I met in 9th grade. Carolyn has such a kind heart I am so thankful for her friendship!

Shelby and Morgan. These two girls were in my 3rd grade class when I taught at Woodland Springs. I still keep in touch with them and their moms. Every summer we meet for lunch.

Monica. Monica is one of my best friends I met at North Texas. We lived together for two years. Monica and her husband Jon are the friends that set Eric and I up. Lifelong friends of ours! Monica is also pregnant with a sweet baby girl. I can't wait for our babies to be friends! Oh and Monica was my little sis in our sorority. I had so much fun when Monica was a pledge! Fun times!

The aftermath at our house. I HAD to take everything out to show Eric. =) My Mom was sweet to put everything in their closets for me this past week.

What a great day! I wish I could see everyone more often!

P.S.- Erin we LOVE the frames, burp clothes, and blanets! It was so sweet of you to send a gift with Monica! It felt like you were with us. =)

Texas or Colorado?

Last Thursday was a unique day for Texas! It snowed ALL day long! Since I am home I watched out the window in amazement all day! It was nice to have a change of scenery around here. =) Eric was able to leave work a little early and made it home without any trouble. It even continued to snow that night and everything was beautiful in it's white blanket Friday morning! Poor little Pudge was NOT happy with the snow. Thursday early he was able to make it outside for a quick bathroom break. When Eric got home we let him out again and as he stepped off the patio he found himself leg deep in snow. He just froze still and looked back at me and Eric like HELP! =) I quickly rescued the little guy and we cleared a spot in the grass for him.

Here are some pictures from the beautiful snow days!

Kaylee came to stay with me for a few hours on Friday. She created a little path for Pudge.

Dear Fetal Fibronectin Test,

You are no longer my friend...

Sincerely,
Heather and Pudge (just thought I'd throw Pudge into this with me...hehe)

I went into the OB today for my check up and it was time for another FFN test. The doctor had some trouble during the test and put me in HORRIBLE pain. I'm still feeling the pain and bleeding. It was possibly the worst 10 minutes of my life thus far! =( My other doctor is much more gentle when giving the FFN test so I'm going to see if I can arrange to always have it done at his office. It's not the FFN test that is painful but the tools my OB uses. For now, I'm just hoping the pain goes away and doesn't stir up any trouble. We are not very happy with my OB after today. Hopefully, I'll feel better tomorrow. The good news is Parker and Presley had strong heartbeats today! =) I go to my other doctor (Dr. Tabor) a week from Monday for a growth check of babies. I can't wait for that appointment to see how much they have grown!! Right now I can look down at my belly and see two little lumps...that's my Parker and Presley! =)

When I find out the results of that awful FFN test I'll update. =)

My Favorite...

Saturday night Eric and I celebrated Valentine's Day together...or just a date night. =) It was by far my favorite Valentines yet and I didn't even leave the house. Eric picked up my favorite- Olive Garden for dinner and flowers as a sweet surprise. We enjoyed dinner for two at the kitchen table and a fire in the fireplace with NO TV! It was so nice to spend this relaxing time together! After dinner Eric pulled my recliner up by the fire and a comfy chair for him next to me. It was so nice to be by the fire, next to Eric, and Pudge in my lap snoozing. Pure heaven to me! In our comfy spots we watched The Time Travelers Wife (my pick!) =) I love that movie and enjoyed every minute of our night!

Here are a few pictures from the night!

The fire Eric built. We actually have a gas fireplace but that would take all the fun out for Eric! I think it makes him feel like we're camping! ;)

When Eric got up to take care of the fire I was left enjoying dinner with this little Valentine! ;)

My FAVORITE sweet treat!

Little Pudge laying in my legs by the fire! =)

We had such a good night that we had a repeat on Sunday night! =) Next year we will have TWO new Valentines to spend time with- Parker and Presley our other loves!

A Time to Remember

This has been the most difficult and also amazing time in mine and Eric's lives. It hasn't been easy but knowing the outcome and the incredible life growing inside me makes it a life changing experience we cherish! Since we were surprised to be having two babies, we aren't sure if we will have any more...if we do it will be down the road since we will be pretty busy the next several years (plus I watched a show this week about a lady who ended up with 3 sets of twins naturally...what if that was us?!) ;) Knowing this makes this time period even more special to us. I wanted us to be able to look back and remember this time in our lives. One of my best friends- Jennifer- took the pictures for us. We took the pictures on a Sunday afternoon at a park near our house. I was 25 1/2 weeks at the time. Here are a few of my favorites-

This is off the topic but in my last post I mentioned how excited I was to go to Monica's shower...:( I wasn't able to make it. BUT, Monica and Aubree this is waiting for you =)

I'm off to enjoy the queso and wings my husband made for the Super Bowl! Yum, yum, yum...my stomach is growling!
